Salamanders Chaos Dreadnought

A dreadnought is the bleakest promise the setting makes: a warrior too badly broken to live and too valuable to lose, sealed into a sarcophagus and walked back into war for another few centuries. The chapter this one answers to has a forge-worker's reputation — armourers as much as soldiers, patient with metal — and the machine carries that heavy, hand-built bulk rather than the sleek look of a mass-produced hull. Walkers anchor an army. They hold the middle of the board, absorb fire that would otherwise fall on infantry and give a force a recognisable outline from across the room. It comes as a substantial multi-part kit at tabletop wargaming scale, which puts it in centrepiece territory: the model a painter saves for when they have time to do it properly, rather than another body for the back rank.
