SHEILD A

Despite the slip in its name, this is a heraldic shield in the Dark Angels mould — a defensive bit for a Space Marine miniature, cast in the sombre knightly language of the First Legion. The Dark Angels carry themselves like an order of medieval monks turned soldier, and their wargear reflects it: winged blades, robed severity and a weight of buried secrets that never quite lifts. The shield itself is the kind of broad, faced slab a warrior braces behind in a boarding action or a shield wall, a surface made for heraldry and hand-painted devices. As a single file it is a small accessory or conversion piece rather than a whole figure, one component to lend ceremony and a note of the First Legion's guarded, ritual character to a build or a display base.
