Skitarii Rangers – Adeptus Mechanicus Long-Range Infantry

Marvin here, and Skitarii Rangers are the unit you deploy first and think about last — which is exactly why they’re so good. On the tabletop, Rangers exist to stretch the board. They sit on early objectives, reach out with long-range fire, and make it awkward for your opponent to pretend the backfield is safe. They’re not there to rush forward or win dramatic fights; they’re there to be present, consistent, and irritatingly hard to fully ignore. Rangers shine when they’re quietly scoring points, screening movement, and picking at targets while flashier units draw attention elsewhere. If your opponent spends time removing them, great — that’s time not spent dealing with your real threats. If they ignore them, those points still count. Visually, they do an important job too: rifles and calm stances instantly read as “long-range problem,” which helps keep games clean once the board fills up. Rangers don’t win games with hero moments — they win by being exactly where they need to be, from turn one to the end.
