Description

A stepped-back skyscraper straight out of the 1920s skyline. This model is a tall Art Deco office tower: a broad base block rising through a series of setbacks — each shoulder pulling the footprint inward — up to a slender crowning shaft capped with a small pyramidal roof and rooftop stack. Regular rows of window openings run the full height on every face, giving that dense, gridded masonry look of a classic American commercial high-rise. It reads convincingly as a downtown centrepiece rather than a generic box. It's aimed at diorama makers, model railroaders and city-table wargamers who need believable background architecture. Print it solid as a display landmark, or scale it down as a skyline filler behind a layout. The stepped massing means it looks good from every angle and casts a great shadow. Print notes • Prints upright straight off the bed on its flat base — no supports needed for the tower body; the tiny roof cap may want a touch of support at its apex. • Fine window mullions favour a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.12–0.16mm layers; slow the outer perimeter for crisp openings. • Scale to your gauge: reduce hard for N/T-scale skyline flats, keep larger for 28mm building frontage or a standalone model. • Prime stone-grey, then apply a dark wash to drop shadow into every window recess and dry-brush the sills — instantly turns the grey render into weathered concrete and limestone.
