Twist

Two icon skyscrapers braided into a single impossible spiral. This sculptural mash-up takes a spire-topped Deco tower and a twin-antenna modernist high-rise and twists their shafts around each other like strands of a helix, both rising from small footed bases and leaning together at the top. It is architecture as art object - instantly readable as famous skylines, but bent into a shape no engineer would ever sign off on. That playful surrealism is the point: it makes a striking desk sculpture, bookshelf conversation piece or gift for an architect, city-lover or structural engineer. The neutral grey render shows off the clean, glossy surfaces and the way the two towers interlace. Print notes • Print upright to keep the twin antenna spikes and the spire crisp; the spiralling shafts will need tree or standard supports where they lean over the gap between them. • A brim helps the two small bases stay put through the tall, slightly top-heavy print. • The fine mast tips are fragile - print slowly on the top layers, or scale the whole model up a little for a sturdier display piece. • Sand and prime for a monolithic cast-stone look, or print in a metallic filament and polish the high spiral edges.
