Vostroya pays its tithe in sons. The firstborn of the forge world are handed to the Imperial Guard, and the regiments they form carry themselves like men repaying a debt centuries old: heavy fur-trimmed greatcoats, tall hats, drooping moustaches, and scrollwork chased into weapons that are treated as heirlooms and passed down the line. That ornamentation is why modellers keep coming back to them. Set against the plain flak plate of a standard guard regiment, the Firstborn look like ceremonial troops who have somehow found themselves in a trench, and the contrast is what makes a whole army of them worth the painting hours. This set is put together with conversion work in mind, aimed at 28mm grimdark collectors who kitbash their infantry rather than at anyone after a single finished pose.
