Industrial grit for your gaming table — a louvred vent to break up bare walls. Part of a modular air-duct set for 28 mm sci-fi terrain, this piece is a slim rectangular grille faced with a row of angled horizontal louvre slats set into a raised frame. On its own it's a wall vent; alongside the set's elbows, junctions, wall mounts and adapters, it becomes a run of ducting that snakes across bulkheads, factory floors and space-hulk corridors. These are the small greeble details that sell a scratch-built board — clipped onto walls, banked over doorways or scattered as scatter terrain to make a plain 3D-printed building look lived-in and functional. Print notes • Print the grille face-up, flat on the bed, so the louvre slots come out crisp with no supports needed. • A 0.4 mm nozzle at 0.12–0.16 mm layers keeps the fine slats sharp at 28 mm; scale the whole file up for 32 mm heroic terrain. • Print several — the set is designed to tile, so batch a plate of vents, grills and junctions together. • Prime dark, dry-brush steel and edge-highlight, then add rust streaks and oil washes; a little sponged chipping makes it look decades in service. Compatible with most modular sci-fi wall systems, and equally at home as detailing on model railways, dioramas or diorama-style display bases. A cheap, high-impact way to add mechanical texture to any tabletop.
