Description

A katana that folds itself away — and prints in one go. This is a collapsing, telescoping blade modelled on Mitsuri Kanroji's sword from Demon Slayer, shown here compressed down into its hilt. The grey handle stacks as a column of nested segments, each punched with a bright pink love-heart, capped by a glossy magenta pommel and seated on a golden sakura-flower guard whose petals carry matching heart cut-outs. Pull it and the blade extends; push it and the whole thing concertinas back into the grip — a satisfying fidget as much as a display prop. It is a fun cosplay accessory and desk toy for anime fans, and a crowd-pleaser for kids thanks to its soft, blunt collapsing action. The heart-and-blossom styling nods straight to Mitsuri, the Love Hashira. Build tips: • Designed as a print-in-place assembly with no supports — the collapsing joints come pre-clearanced in the model. • Dial in your printer's tolerances first; if segments fuse, add a touch more XY clearance or slow the bridging layers. • Multicolour it with filament swaps at set layer heights — grey shaft, pink hearts, magenta cap and a gold tsuba. • PLA is ideal; print slowly through the first few nested layers so the moving parts release cleanly. Snap it open and shut once it is off the bed to free the mechanism.
