Description

A scooped architectural sill for your model battlements. A smooth, concave slab that dips in a shallow saddle between two rolled, cylindrical lips front and back — think of a stone sill or cushion moulding rather than a figure or bust. The French name (*fond créneaux*, loosely "battlement base") and its castle-scenery lineage point to the job it does: a base or capping course that sits beneath or behind the crenellations of a model wall, giving the parapet a solid, moulded footing. Rendered glossy blue here, it is a plain architectural element you finish however your build needs — sandstone, granite or painted render. Print notes: • Orient it concave-side-up so the curved trough prints cleanly with little or no support; the rolled edges self-support well. • Hollow the interior with a few perimeters — it is scenery, so strength matters more than density. • Scale the length and width to butt neatly against your wall sections before slicing. • Prime grey, dry-brush stone tones, then float a wash into the curve to bring out the moulded profile.
