Medaillon Porte

A chunky circular frame with a hand-worn, pebble-smooth finish, a medallion waiting for a home. Rendered in deep cobalt, this is a thick open ring: a rounded torus whose outer edge is broken up by soft scalloped notches and a couple of subtle facets, giving it the look of something hammered rather than machined. A small squared lug sits at one point of the rim, the natural spot to thread a cord, jump ring or clasp. The open centre and generous cross-section let it read as a pendant surround or medallion holder, though it is equally at home as an oversized napkin ring, a curtain-tie ring, or a display hoop for a small keepsake. The form is clean and closed, with no fragile detail to lose, so it prints beautifully across a range of materials. Print notes • Stand it upright and it needs almost nothing; lay it flat and add a few supports only under the protruding lug. • The smooth surfaces reward a 0.12 to 0.16 mm layer height. • PETG or resin both suit it: resin for jewellery-fine edges, PETG for a tougher everyday piece. • Print two at slightly different scales to nest as a pendant-and-frame set.
