A sword prop is only half a costume without something to carry it in. The saya is the sheath a katana rests in when it is not drawn, and for a cosplayer it does as much work as the blade — it sets the silhouette at the hip, it gives the outfit its samurai line, and it turns a sword into something worn rather than merely held. This set covers that side of the build. Sheath forms are a favourite among prop makers: a long tapered case, plain enough to finish carefully, and a natural base for cord work, wrapping and paint once it is off the bed.
