Wing L Lamp

Four long finger struts fan out from a single wrist knot at the base, each swelling slightly at the knuckles and drawing to a point. Between them the membrane is stretched tight in some panels and left slack in others, gathering into fine creases that run alongside the bones and bunch where skin meets strut. The trailing edge is where the sculpt shows its intent: deep scallops scoop back between each fingertip, leaving four sharp points and one long sweeping tail of membrane at the bottom. A line of small raised nodules runs down the leading edge above the uppermost strut. The wing is held partly folded rather than spread flat, and it curves across its width instead of sitting as a flat panel, which is what gives the membrane its gathered, rumpled surface rather than the look of a taut sail.
