Description

A smooth rounded dome ridged with wavy horizontal grooves, ending in a small locating tab. The render is a single glossy blue form shaped like an egg or a helmet crown: broad and full at the top, tapering to a narrower chin or base, and wrapped in irregular, roughly horizontal ripples that flow across the surface like layered folds, wrappings, or windswept hair. A small square peg juts from the lower edge, clearly a keying tab meant to slot into a matching part, so this reads as one component of a larger assembled model rather than a standalone bust. Given the folded, segmented surface and the socket, this looks like a stylised character head or helmet from a display figure or costume prop, aimed at cosplayers, prop makers and collectors who will join it to a body or helmet shell. On its own it also works as a smooth sculptural head study. The curved, overhanging dome is the thing to plan around on the plate. Print notes • Orient it tab-down or on a raft so the widest overhangs are supported; the underside of the dome will need supports whichever way you turn it. • Resin or fine FDM layers keep the wavy grooves crisp; thick layers will blur the ripples into steps. • Dry-fit the locating tab against its mating part before finishing, and sand the peg for a snug slip fit. • Prime and sand the dome for a seamless look, then paint to match whatever the head attaches to, as the grooves take a wash well to add depth.
