Ba Baracus

Eighties television gave few characters a silhouette this readable: the mohawk, the stacked chains, the arms folded like a closed door. B.A. is the muscle and the mechanic of the team, the one who welds armour plate onto a van during the montage and then refuses point blank to get on an aeroplane. This is a fan-made collector's figure of him, stylised in the chunky vinyl-toy idiom rather than sculpted for strict realism, with the exaggerated build and heavy features that shorthand does so well. It comes as a five-file set. It is aimed at the shelf or the cabinet rather than the games table, and it slots in neatly alongside a rank of other action-TV characters from the same era. Left bare it has a graphic, toy-like look; painted, the chains and the scowl carry most of the character.
