Barad Dur Base

A lamp base modelled on the dark tower of Middle-earth's eastern shadow: a fortress of jagged buttresses, spiked crenellations and stacked stone that looms over everything beneath it. This is the base of the build rather than the shade, so the drama sits at the bottom and the light sits above it. Lit from above, the silhouette does the work — a spiky, top-heavy outline instantly recognisable to anyone who has read the books or sat through the films. Unlit, it still reads as architecture, which is why it works on a bookshelf beside the trilogy as readily as on a desk.
