Base Flower

A display base rather than a figure: the plinth a collectible stands on, shaped as a flower with petals opening outward from the centre, so whatever sits on it appears to be rising out of a bloom. Bases do more work on a shelf than people expect. A figure set straight onto a wooden surface looks like it was simply put down; the same figure on a considered stand looks staged. A floral form adds something soft and organic underneath a subject that usually is not either of those things, which is why it suits character figures, small statuettes and fan-art pieces that arrived without a stand of their own. It works as an ornament in its own right with nothing on top at all, and there are two files in the set, so there is a little more to it than a single flat disc.
