Bat Signal Lamp

Gotham's police force has one piece of equipment everyone can draw from memory, and it isn't a squad car. This lamp takes the rooftop searchlight as its subject — the beacon that throws a bat across the clouds when the commissioner has run out of options — and rebuilds it as a light for a desk or a shelf. It is a comic-shelf piece more than a general room light: at home on a bedside table, a home-office desk, a games room, or at the end of a run of graphic novels. Lit or unlit, the emblem is the whole point of the design. Batman merchandise is not scarce, but most of it is a logo printed onto something else. A lamp is a better object — it earns its space in the room, and it gives a fan something to explain when a visitor asks about it.
