Description

Named for the closed cap that finishes its underside, this is a self-contained lamp form rather than a shade hung on a frame. The body runs uninterrupted from base to top and meets the surface flat, with no legs, stem or visible bracket breaking the outline. Lighting at this scale is decorative first. It belongs on a bedside table, a hall shelf or the far corner of a desk, somewhere a room wants a low contained glow after dark rather than another overhead. Switched off it still holds its own as a quiet sculptural shape. Printing your own lighting housings has become one of the more sensible uses of a home printer, and this is a straightforward way into it: a design aimed at makers who want a finished object off the plate, not a project that needs a workshop to complete.
