Cars Ramone

Ramone the lowrider, straight off the Route 66 body shop. Shown here as a smooth blue preview mesh, the model is unmistakably the customised lowrider car from the animated Cars world, a long, low sedan with a swept fastback roofline, a broad wraparound windscreen standing in for eyes, and softly sculpted fenders. The untextured render hides the paintwork, but the classic late-fifties lowrider silhouette, all curves and swagger, is right there. This is a display collectible for a Cars fan, a shelf ornament, a desk buddy or a child's bedroom trophy, and it is crying out to be finished in Ramone's flame-and-purple flake livery. Print notes: • Resin holds the smooth compound curves of the body far better than coarse FDM at this size. • Orient the car on its wheels, or slightly nose-down, and add light supports under the sills, wheel arches and front overhang. • Once printed, prime it, then paint the body, glass and chrome separately for that showroom shine. • Scale it up for a chunkier toy or down for a diorama; either way, sand the roof smooth before painting.
