Cat Lamp

There is a kind of small lamp that only really earns its place once the sun has gone, and this is one of them. The shade takes the shape of a sitting cat, so the light comes through the body and the ears, muzzle and curled tail read as darker edges against the glow. By day it holds up perfectly well as an ornament — a simple rounded feline form without fussy detailing, which is exactly what keeps it from tipping into twee. After dusk it does the job of a corner light on a desk, a bedside table or a child's room, where the overhead would be far too harsh. Supplied as a single file, it is one of the more forgiving decorative lights to take on if you have never made one before.
