Chibi IG

IG units are the gangling, insectile assassin droids of the Star Wars galaxy: narrow limbs, a drum-shaped head and a rotating band of sensors where a face ought to be. Shrinking one into chibi proportions is a deliberately funny idea, taking a bounty-hunting killing machine and squashing it into a big-headed, stubby-limbed figure that would look at home beside a desk plant. The chibi treatment keeps the details that identify the droid at a glance, the cylindrical skull, the slung bandolier, the general impression of something assembled entirely out of pipework, while throwing away the spindly proportions that made the original unnerving. It arrives as a multi-part kit, so sections can be primed and painted separately before the figure is brought together. One for Star Wars collectors, chibi-shelf builders and anyone who prefers their bounty hunters rendered slightly ridiculous.
