Description
A single facade slab from a timber-frame building kit. The French name colombage etage translates as "half-timbered storey," and that is what this file is: one floor-height wall section for a model half-timbered house. The preview render is deliberately plain, a tall, slightly canted blue slab with one angled lower corner, so the fine surface relief of beams and infill panels is not visible at this angle, but the part is meant to stack with matching storeys and roof pieces into a complete building. It is aimed at diorama and model-railway builders, wargamers wanting an old-town European backdrop, and tabletop RPG scenery. Printed and painted, a run of these becomes a leaning medieval street; the timber frame picks out dark against pale render infill. Because the file is a flat-backed wall, print it face-up or standing against a raft with the decorated side outward, and no supports are needed on a flat elevation. PLA is ample for static scenery. A 0.16-0.2mm layer height holds the beam detail at common building scales; drop to finer layers if you are working at N or smaller. Paint the timbers first, then dry-brush the infill panels a lighter tone and add a thin grime wash into the recesses. Confidence on exact styling is moderate here, as the supplied preview shows the blank massing rather than the carved face.
