The Cavalier of the six children swept off a fairground ride and dropped into a realm they then spent an entire animated series trying to leave. Eric was the group's designated complainer, sceptical of every quest, loudly unimpressed by every wizard, and in the way of these stories the one who turned up anyway when it counted. Here he is rendered in the stylised collectible idiom, the exaggerated head-to-body proportions that vinyl figures made famous, which places him firmly on a shelf rather than on a battle mat. He belongs with the rest of a cartoon-nostalgia display, alongside the other Saturday-morning fantasy of the early eighties.
