Faceted geometry does something particular with light. Flat planes break a glow into panels instead of spreading it evenly, so the shade becomes part of the display rather than a means of hiding the bulb. This design takes a crystal as its starting point: angular, irregular and a little gothic in temperament. Nine files make up the set, so it is a proper multi-part build rather than a single printed shell, assembled from components in the way most lamps are. It belongs in a room that already leans dark and atmospheric, whether that is a study, a reading corner or a shelf given over to oddities and curiosities. Lit, it throws shaped light rather than an even wash. Unlit, it still stands up as a sculptural object, which is more than most lamps manage in daylight.
