Dessus Creneaux (3)

A smooth stone cap made to crown the tooth of a battlement. The name is French — *dessus créneaux*, literally "top of the crenels" — and that is exactly what this piece is: the rounded coping block that sits atop a merlon on a castle parapet. The model is deliberately plain. It reads as a long, low bar with softly radiused ends and a top face that sinks in a shallow, unhurried wave along its length, split by a single fine seam line running end to end. No carving, no figures — just confident geometry meant to sit in a row of identical caps and give a fortress wall its finished, weather-worn crown. Because there is no character or figure to it, this belongs on any tabletop terrain build, model castle, wargaming ruin or diorama where you want a repeatable, tidy wall topper that ties a section of parapet together. Print notes: • Lay it flat on the bed with the curved face up — in that orientation the form is self-supporting and needs no supports at all. • It is a chunky, solid part rather than a detail part, so 3–4 perimeters and 10–15% infill is plenty. • Prime in grey, block in a sandstone base coat, then dry-brush the raised wave to catch the light and sell the stone. • Measure and scale the length to your existing wall modules before slicing so a row of caps lines up cleanly with no gaps.
