Description

A furled heraldic banner frozen mid-flutter — the perfect crowning flourish for a turret or gatehouse. The name is French for "turret flag," and that is exactly what this is: a decorative pennant modelled as if caught in a breeze. A tight scroll volute curls at the hoist edge like a rolled parchment, feeding into a fluted fan of radiating pleats before the cloth billows out into a broad, wind-swept top and drops to a long tapered swallowtail. Everything is rendered as solid geometry, so it prints as a single rigid ornament rather than anything cloth-like. It is built to sit atop a model castle spire, a wargaming keep, a dolls'-house rooftop or a fantasy diorama, giving a plain tower an instant focal point. Paint it as a house standard, a guild colour or a battle ensign. Print notes • The scroll and fan carry all the character — print with the flat back face down (or angled ~30°) so those recesses face the light and stay support-free where possible. • FDM at 0.12 mm layer height captures the pleats cleanly; resin is overkill but gives the crispest volute. • It is a thin, sail-like part: add a small brim or raft to stop the swallowtail tip lifting, and consider a short mounting peg if you want to plug it into a spire finial. • Bump the wall count to 3–4 perimeters so the flag survives handling and painting.
