Earth Lamp

A globe treated as a light source. The continents stand proud of the oceans in relief, so the map reads as texture you can run a thumb over rather than as printed decoration, and the sphere sits on a turned stand in the manner of an old library globe. Lit, the raised landmasses and the sunken seas separate out and the whole thing becomes a soft glowing planet, which is why lamps like this end up in studies, hallways and children's bedrooms far more often than on a workbench.
