Description
Anyone who has printed a lampshade knows the awkward part is rarely the shade itself. It is everything around the point where the printed work meets the hardware. This is the trial piece for that stage of a lamp build: a stripped-back version of the design, run on its own so it can be looked at and handled before anyone commits to the whole thing. It belongs to a project rather than a mantelpiece. The people who will want it are the ones assembling lamps from printed parts and shop-bought fittings, or iterating on a design rather than taking it on trust first time. Two files are included. Print it, study it, decide what you would change, and you have learned something for the cost of an offcut rather than a full shade.
