There is a reason the friar keeps turning up in folklore and fantasy alike. The cowl and the heavy fall of a habit give a figure enormous presence without much fuss, and a face half-lost under a hood does the rest of the work. This is a character study of exactly that: a robed brother, hood drawn up, the drape of coarse cloth carrying most of the silhouette.
