Garden Lamp

The garden lantern is an old shape — the thing that hung beside a back door, stood at the turn of a path or swung from a hook over a table on a summer evening. This design borrows that language for a table light, giving it noticeably more character than the plain drum shade it would otherwise be sharing a shelf with. It reads well in a conservatory, on a kitchen windowsill, in a porch or partway down a hallway, and it belongs to the growing category of home lighting that people would now rather make than buy. Lamps are arguably the best argument for that, being the one household object whose shape gets noticed every single evening.
