Description
Built around the shape of a camera aperture, the shade is a ring of overlapping blades curling in towards a central opening. It is the mechanical iris that sits behind every photograph ever taken, borrowed and scaled up as a lighting form, and it gives the lamp real geometry to look at: a radial fan of segments spiralling around the centre rather than a plain cylinder with a texture applied to it. That earns it a place in rooms where an ordinary shade would look apologetic. A studio, a desk in a home office, a shelf of old camera bodies that already reads as a small private museum. It also sits happily in anything leaning industrial or art deco, since the radiating fan is a motif both of those share. A single-file download, it reads as one considered object rather than an assembly of parts.
