Description

The clunky cave-built prototype suit, squashed into a stout little brawler. This is a chibi take on Iron Man's Mark I: the crude, riveted armour cobbled together from scrap, reimagined as a big-headed, small-bodied figure with exaggerated shoulder pads and a barrel chest. You can pick out the boxy helmet with its narrow eye slit, the round chest housing, the layered plate segments over the arms and thighs, and a tubular flamethrower unit strapped to the left forearm. It arrives PlaKit-style — a body part with no base plus a separate round base — so it stands proud once assembled. It suits desk shelves, a growing Marvel line-up, or a printed gift for someone who loves the rough origin armour more than the polished later suits. The stocky proportions are forgiving to print and a pleasure to paint. Print notes: • Resin gives the sharpest plate lines and rivet detail; FDM at 0.12 mm still reads well. • Print the figure and base separately; add light supports under the chin, the forearm gauntlet and any overhanging plates. • Orient upright or tilted slightly back to protect the face. • A gunmetal base coat, silver dry-brush on the edges and a dark wash in the recesses sells the beaten-metal, hand-hammered look.
