A shade is really a device for deciding where light goes and where it does not, which makes lighting one of the more satisfying things to make at home: the interesting part is mostly pattern and air, and both of those cost nothing. It belongs on a bedside table, a hallway console, or the corner of a desk that only wants a pool of light rather than a whole room lit. The character of the thing changes completely between states. Quiet and sculptural in daylight, it becomes the focus of the corner once there is light behind it and the pattern starts doing the work. The download runs to two files.
