Main Body C (Shade)

Part of a lettered series of shade bodies, this is the C profile: the main volume of the lamp rather than a fitting or a foot. It is drawn as a shell that wraps a bulb and turns a bare source into light a room can actually live with, gentler overhead and warmer against a wall once the evening draws in. Shades of this kind earn their place on a bedside table, a hall console or the corner of a desk, where an exposed bulb is too harsh and a full floor lamp is simply too much furniture. Belonging to a family of bodies also makes it useful to anyone building a matching pair for either side of a bed, or a consistent set across several rooms. A straightforward single-file print, and one that changes the feel of a room out of all proportion to its size.
