French for the straight wall, and that is precisely the subject: a level run of fortress curtain wall, the kind that stretches between towers on a castle's outer defences. Crenellated parapet, wall-walk behind it, coursed stonework carrying the load, and none of the ceremony that gatehouses get. Straight runs are the connective tissue of any fortification. Towers and barbicans take the attention, but it is the plain wall that turns a handful of features into an enclosure, defines the ground a siege is fought over, and gives attackers something to put ladders against. Supplied as a multi-part set, it is aimed at wargamers building siege tables, roleplay groups who would rather show a keep than describe one, and diorama builders working on medieval or fantasy subjects where a fortification needs actual length to it.
