Description
A stout little pillar crowned with a cannonball finial: simple, architectural and endlessly repeatable. The model is a square-section column standing on a stepped square base and topped by a matching square cap, with a smooth sphere seated on a short conical neck at the very top. Shown as a solid blue preview, the forms are clean and geometric: flat faces, crisp plinth steps, a domed transition rolling up into the ball. It reads as a gate pier, fence-post cap or newel post, the sort of ornament that anchors the end of a railing or flanks a driveway entrance in miniature. Because it is built from straightforward primitives, it is forgiving to print and perfect for repeat runs where you need several matching posts. Uses: model-railway and diorama scenery, dolls-house exteriors, tabletop wargame terrain such as estate walls and gates, or simply a chunky desk paperweight. Print notes • Print upright on the base for the cleanest sphere; the domed neck is a mild overhang most printers clear, though a light support under the ball won't hurt. • The broad flat base gives excellent bed adhesion with no raft required. • Scale freely: shrink for N or OO-gauge fence posts, or enlarge for a bookend or door knob. • Smooth PLA or PETG faces sand and prime nicely for a cast-stone finish.
