Description
A sturdy little column crowned with a perfect sphere. Pilier is a square-shaft pillar finished with a stepped cap, a domed neck and a smooth ball finial on top, all sitting on a wide oversailing base plinth. The proportions are clean and architectural — think of a classical gate-post cap shrunk to the tabletop, or a newel-post terminal. Shown here as a solid blue render, it is really a blank canvas geometry ready for whatever job you have in mind. Uses run wide: a cap for a garden or driveway gate post, a finial for a model-railway or dolls-house scene, a display pedestal to lift a small bust or trophy figure, a weighty chess-set base, or a curtain-pole end. Its symmetry makes it easy to duplicate as a matched pair. Print notes • Prints upright straight off the plate — the broad base grips well and needs no brim. • The sphere is the only fiddly part; a few supports under its underside, or slower cooling, keep it round. • Hollow the shaft with 2–3 walls to save filament on larger prints. • PLA is fine indoors; choose ASA or PETG if it will live outdoors as a real post cap.
