Presupported Lamp

A pot-bellied little automaton, pre-supported and ready to hit resin. Despite the listing calling it a lamp, the model itself is unmistakably a robot: a rounded, barrel-bodied mechanical figure bristling with rivets, valve caps and clustered greebles, with a large circular porthole lens set into its face like a single glassy eye. A curved side plate and stubby limbs give it a friendly, retro-industrial deep-sea diver character. It ships already caged in a full raft of resin supports — the fine forest of struts you can see holding the body and base off the plate — so the tricky overhangs and undercuts are handled before the file even reaches your slicer. That pre-support work is the real value here. The generation angle keeps contact tips off the display faces, so the rivet detail and the porthole rim come out crisp with minimal scarring to clean up. Print it as a shelf character, a desk companion, a tabletop objective marker, or the centrepiece of a small steampunk diorama. Print notes • Built for resin/MSLA — the included supports assume a resin workflow; FDM will struggle with the fine greebles. • Print at the supplied orientation; the base part goes down first, the body angled above it. • 0.025–0.05mm layers bring out the panel lines and rivets; wash and UV-cure fully before clipping supports. • Clip contact points close, sand the base seam, then prime and dry-brush metallics with a rust or verdigris wash for that weathered look.
