Rambarde Fer (1)

A neat run of iron railing, scaled down for the model bench. Despite the coded title, the image is unmistakable: a section of balustrade — "rambarde fer" is French for iron railing. A solid, chunky top rail runs the full length, mirrored by a matching plinth rail along the bottom, and between them stands an evenly spaced row of turned cylindrical balusters. The proportions are clean and architectural, printed here in bright blue, with the top rail overhanging slightly for a realistic cap profile. It is a modular scenery component rather than a character piece. This is a workhorse part for diorama builders, dollhouse makers, model-railway scenery, wargaming terrain and architectural mock-ups — anywhere you need a balcony edge, a bridge parapet, a staircase guard or a fenced boundary. Print several and butt them end to end for a continuous run. A few pointers: • Print flat on its back (rail face down) for the strongest balusters and the least support; a raft helps the thin spindles adhere. • If you print it standing for a smoother rail face, add light supports beneath the top rail overhang. • PLA is ideal for crisp, straight spindles; keep them at least 1.2 mm thick at small scales so they survive handling. • Scale to match your gauge (OO, HO, 1:24 dollhouse, 28 mm tabletop) and dry-fit before gluing, since railings are the first thing knocked in transit.
