Rambarde Pierre

A little run of ornamental railing, ready to drop into a build. Rendered here in flat blue, this is a corner section of decorative balustrade, two straight lengths meeting at a right angle, each capped by a square newel post topped with a round ball finial. The name gives the game away: "rambarde pierre" is French for stone railing, and the panels are pierced right through with a repeating row of scrolled roundels, little interlocking spirals and curls that let light pass through the fret. That open, cut-through pattern is what makes it useful for model-makers. It sits naturally along the edge of a terrace, a bridge, a grand staircase or a balcony on a scenery piece, a dollhouse, a train-layout building or a tabletop diorama. Because it is a corner return rather than a plain straight, it turns believably around a platform instead of stopping dead. Print / CNC notes: • Print flat, lying on its back, so the pierced panels come out cleanly and the two faces stay crisp; the finials print fine in place at this orientation. • On FDM keep the nozzle small (0.4mm or less) and slow the perimeters, as the scroll bars are thin. • Scale it to match your model's storey height before slicing; duplicate and butt several straights together to extend a longer run. • Light sanding along the top rail, then primer, hides layer lines before you paint it as stone, iron or bronze.
