Description
French for 'access ramp', and the title is literal: a sloped structure carrying up from ground level to a raised deck. It comes as a multi-part kit, and reads as architecture rather than ornament — the utilitarian sort of build that props and scenery are made of. Ramps of this kind earn their place in dioramas and display scenes, where a figure needs somewhere to walk down from, a vehicle needs a way off a loading bay, or a display plinth needs an approach that makes visual sense. Set alone it is a piece of infrastructure; set beneath a model it supplies the context that turns a figure into a scene. One for collectors who build the setting as well as the subject, and for anyone assembling a scenic base with somewhere to actually go.
