Description
Table lamps are held together by a small pile of unglamorous hardware, and the nut that caps the central rod is among the pieces most likely to go missing. That is what this one is: the top fastener finishing the rod at the head of the assembly, up where the shade carrier sits. Parts of this sort are the quiet argument for owning a printer at all. A lamp lacking one thread cap is otherwise a perfectly good lamp, and drawing the absent piece back out of a file beats hunting a match through an ironmonger's drawers or writing off the whole fitting. The lettering in the name is workshop shorthand from the designer's own build, the kind of label used to keep a run of similar small components straight. Restorers, lamp builders and anyone part-way through an assembly are the audience.
