STL Pillow

There is a whole small genre of printed objects that exist for the pleasure of turning something soft into something rigid, and a cushion is the obvious candidate. This one takes the familiar plumped shape of a pillow, corners pinched and sides bowed outward, and hands it over to the shelf as a solid display object. The joke lands because the form is so instantly readable. From across the room it is unmistakably a pillow; up close it is clearly nothing of the sort, and that second-glance absurdity is what makes it a decent conversation piece on a desk or among a shelf of collectibles. The plain rounded mass also gives the eye somewhere to rest between busier figures, and its broad surfaces suit personalisation with a painted crest, a decal or a fan emblem. A fan-shelf piece with rather more wit to it than another blank plinth.
