Sunflower Pot Plug Lamp

A sunflower head with its petals radiating around a densely textured seed disc, rising from a small pot, shaped as a shade for the sort of little plug-in light that sits directly in a wall socket. It belongs in the places where a proper lamp would be overkill. A landing, a hallway socket behind the coats, the awkward gap beside a kitchen worktop, a child's room where a full bedside light is far too much at two in the morning. The flower does the job a plain nightlight cover does, except that it is worth looking at during the day as well as after dark. Sunflowers are one of the few motifs that survive being made small, because the shape alone carries them and no detail work is needed to explain what it is.
