Description

A regal little rooftop, bristling with corner spires and iron-lace railings. This is an ornamental turret cap rather than a plain lid: a square canopy modelled as a "toiture" (roof) with its matching "faitage" (ridge crown). Four turned posts stand at the corners, each finished with a glossy orb and a slender spike, like the staffs of a coronation baldachin or the finials on a fairground carousel. Running between them is a gallery of interlaced rings and softly curling filigree, and beneath the top plate hangs a valance of scalloped, cusped brackets that reads like carved stone corbelling. The whole thing has the poise of a miniature castle keep or a fantasy shrine roof. It suits dollhouse and model builders, tabletop terrain makers who need a distinctive tower cap, or anyone wanting a decorative crown to sit over a display base, trinket dome or candle. Painted in aged bronze or verdigris it looks like antique ironwork; in white it turns almost bridal. Print notes: • Two parts are included (roof body plus the ridge crown) so you can print the delicate finials separately and glue them on. • The spikes and the ring gallery are fine features best handled in resin; for FDM use a small nozzle and slow perimeters. • Print the canopy right-side-up with light tree supports under the overhanging brackets and finials. • Clean the lattice gently and prime before painting to catch every curl of the scrollwork.
