Toiture

A slender octagonal spire crowned by an open coronet and a needle-sharp finial — a proper fairy-tale turret top. The file's name gives it away: *toiture octogonale*, an octagonal roof. It's a tall, tapering eight-sided spire that swells gently near the base and narrows to a fluted neck, with rows of little bead studs marching up each rib. Near the summit sits an openwork crown of looping arches, and from its centre a fine spike points to the sky. Shown here as a clean untextured render, it's a purely architectural model — the sort of turret cap that finishes a castle tower, a Gothic clock tower, a dolls' house cupola or a piece of tabletop terrain. Great for wargamers building fortresses, model railway and dolls'-house makers, and diorama hobbyists who need a convincing rooftop crown. Print notes • Print upright to keep the eight facets true and symmetrical; a brim helps that small octagonal footprint stay stuck down. • The openwork crown and the top spike are delicate — use fine supports there, or print the crown separately and pin it on. • Resin gives the sharpest spike and cleanest bead studs; FDM is fine for the tapered body at 0.12 mm layers. • Scale it in your slicer to match your tower diameter before committing to a long print.
