Top Base Part

The unglamorous part that holds the whole lamp together. This is a flat circular base ring — a solid disc with its centre bored out, a full ring of evenly spaced clearance holes stepping around the outer flange, and a keyed, splined hub cut into the inner opening. It reads as a mounting flange: the perimeter holes take fixing screws down into a stand or plinth, while the toothed inner collar locates and grips the column or fitting that seats on top. As a lamp base part it does the quiet structural work — spreading the load, keeping the upright square and giving you a tidy screw pattern to anchor into wood or a printed foot. It's a component rather than a showpiece, so you'll usually build it into a larger fixture rather than display it alone. Print notes • Print flat, holes facing up, for the most accurate bores and a clean splined centre. • This is a load-bearing part: run 4+ perimeters and 40–60% infill, or slice it in PETG/ABS for extra rigidity. • Check the inner spline against your mating post before committing to a big print — scale in small steps if it's tight. • If the screw holes come out snug, chase them with a drill bit rather than forcing a fastener and cracking the flange. • A brim helps keep the thin ring flat and stops warping at the corners of the holes.
