Uranus Lamp

A whole little world you can light from within. This is a full sphere sculpted like a weathered planet, its surface crawling with fractured ridgelines, dry riverbeds and continent-shaped plateaus that catch the light in raised relief. Rather than a smooth globe, it reads as something geological and ancient, the kind of orb that looks fascinating switched off and comes alive the moment a bulb glows behind it. Dropped over an LED, the thin high spots turn translucent while the deep cracks stay dark, so the whole planetary texture floods with a soft, mottled warmth. Print notes: • Print in a vase-style single wall or a thin two-perimeter shell (roughly 1.2-1.6 mm) so light passes through the raised terrain; natural or amber PLA and PETG both glow beautifully. • Orient pole-up and slice in two hemispheres if your printer struggles with the wide overhang near the equator, then bond and seat over a base ring. • Only ever pair with a cool LED puck or bulb, never a hot incandescent source. • A light sand on the outer high points before assembly sharpens the contrast between glowing crust and shadowed canyons.
