Wing R Lamp

A single dragon wing, caught mid-beat and frozen in fine detail. This sculpt is a membranous wing of the kind you'd see on a bat or a fantasy wyvern. A slim armature of finger-bones fans out from a clawed wrist, each strut stretching a taut, leathery membrane between them. Look closely and you can read the wrinkled skin, the raised veins tracking along every spar, and the scalloped, slightly ragged trailing edge where the webbing thins almost to nothing. The whole form curves and lifts as though it is about to sweep downward, giving a flat model a real sense of motion. Although it is filed under lighting, it earns its keep as a sculptural shade or glowing wall accent: the membrane is thin enough that a warm bulb or LED behind it will bleed amber through the skin and throw the vein pattern into shadow. Mount one over a bracket for a sconce, or print a mirrored pair to flank a doorway or headboard. Print notes • PLA or PETG both work; translucent amber or smoke filament gives the best backlit glow. • Orient with the wrist down and the membrane angled up, so the webbing prints as a gentle overhang needing only light tree supports under the outer spars. • Keep walls thin (2 to 3 perimeters) so light passes through; heavy infill kills the effect. • A quick sand or a whisper of flame smooths the layer lines before you add a light source.
