X MEN Beast

Hank McCoy is the X-Men's standing contradiction, a research scientist with several doctorates in a body built for tearing doors off their hinges, and any good figure of him has to sell both halves at once. This one takes the fully mutated form: heavy shoulders, a broad simian frame, fur across the whole body, hands and feet equally at home on a railing or a book. The crouched, ready-to-spring register suits him better than a standing hero pose, since Beast is rarely still. As fan art it is aimed squarely at the display shelf, sitting alongside boxed vinyl figures and other comics collectibles rather than seeing use in play. There is plenty here for a painter in the fur and the musculature, and X-Men collectors usually end up wanting the whole roster.
